Touchscreens on motos - good idea or bad?

Wasn't aware of this new trend. Good idea or bad?

I haven't ridden a moto in 15+ years (last rig was a CBR 600), and couldn't imagine a screen in front of me. Although a digital map would've been handy. I had this old fashioned thing called a tank bag with a plastic sleeve and a paper map.....
