brakes and rotors

i have never replaced my brake pads or rotors on my corvette.

now when i hit the brakes i hear a scraping noise from the front brakes.

i suppose i need new brake pads in the front. do i also need new rotors?

is this a big job and expensive? what is the best brake pads to purchase?

do they make a extra heavy duty brake pad? should i replace all four
brake pads or just the front ones? i hope i can just do the pads without
replacing the rotors as i hear rotors are expensive to replace or have
them turned? what is all this going to cost me? just a ball park figure
would be greatly appreciated? also what brand of pads is the best?
