Fun at RPM with the BMW club 7/2016

Had a great time at Raceway Park of the Midlands, (ex-MAM) in Pacific Junction, IA with the local BMW clubs at the end of July.

I was assigned to the upper Intermediate Group even though I asked to be assigned to the Advanced run group, and my son ran in the Novice group. Hence the car was subjected to eight run sessions on Saturday where the temps reached up to the mid 80Fs. Unfortunately we only managed two runs on the Sunday as some nasty rain moved through the area.

Highest temps via Cosworth was 273dF oil and 239dF water. Forgot the darn SD card so ran out and got one Saturday evening; hence no PDR data from Saturday which is a shame as my son said I ran a sub-1:48 in the afternoon. No issues with power being 'pulled', although the above temps were too high given that it was only in the mid 70dFs Sunday morning.

Continue to have major issues with the brakes 'leaking' from the bleed nipples, especially on the outboard bleeders. Not cool that, and it's making me back out of the throttle a little too early on the straights. You can read about that problem here:

Anyway we had great fun, and if interested here's the PDR video from my run Sunday morning:
