So I was on my way home from work yesterday. It's about 5:30am (I work night shift) and I'm coming up to a red light at an intersection. I'm probably about 50 yards away and I watch a car crossing the intersection. It's probably like a 1986 Buick Park Avenue towing a small, homebuilt trailer. Total hooptie.
Just as the car enters the intersection the driver slams on the brakes and, for reasons known only to him, comes to a complete stop in the middle of the intersection. He then gets out of his car and slams his Super Big Gulp cup on the ground in a fit of rage, then starts cussing and flailing his arms like a mad man. Whatever has set him off has distracted his attention, all the while his car, which he failed to put in 'park' begins to resume the journey unattended. By the time he finally turns around to see his mistake the car is now through the intersection and he has to break into a full sprint to catch the car as it runs off the shoulder. Fortunately, he was able to bring the car to a stop about three feet short of running into a street sign.
By this time my light has turned green. I wonder for a moment what triggered this conniption fit, chuckle, and continue my drive home.
I don't live in the ghetto but I have to drive through it to get home.
