Find the US history on my C4, possible?

,
My car was sold in the states and exported to Sweden in -97. I always want to know as much as possible about my cars and I was wondering if anyone knows how to find that old info? I reckon a carfax so many years later wouldn't give me much info or would it? I am primarly interested in what state the car was being sold in.
Any help is appreciated.
