Automatic Lighting (those with a C6 2011)

C6, 2011 Coupe, 436 hp, automatic

Question: In the "auto" light position - are the low beams suppose to be on?

Background: Unless I'm getting too old - a good possibility, my 2006 C6 ran the low beams when the switch (on the turn signal bar) is set to auto. I could swear the 2011 did too, but then stopped. The dealer tech says, the 2011 just runs the fender ambers, unless its dark.
