Driver's side door would not raise after it was down for about 3 months while I did a bunch of upgrades. Multiple battery connect and disconnects.
Battery is charged and actually new so it's not a case of DBS.
I removed the window regulator/motor assembly and the cable seemed to have slipped on spool in the regulator. The regulator spool is plastic and was a little beat up so I decided to just install a new one while I had the door apart.
New regulator went in easily and had the window in place and connections back to test. Traveled up and down a few inches no problem, smooth motion. When trying to put it up, only raised up about 4". Pressing down went all the way down. Tried pressing down and holding 5 seconds and then back up but still only went up 4". Sent it back down. Removed and replaced negative battery cable, now window won't go back up at all. Wondering if their is some procedure that needs to tell the computer where the window is at. This is with the door open. I'm about to go out and try closing the door and see if that effects anything.
And to clarify; this is not about re-indexing, it will only raise up about 4" and stop, and it sounds like the motor just stops not that it's trying to push against some obstruction.
Anyone happen to have the actual technical procedure for post replacement of regulator?
Window will only raise a few inches post regulator replace
