62 hardtop rear plexi and loose ignition switch

So still doing a shakedown on my 62...Turn signals turned out to be a loose wire and the temp gauge has a bad sender "grounded it out and it pegged full hot"

Been looking at the hardtop and the rear window has the typical crazing and swirls, but it has old adhesive that looks like it ran from the rear window seam. Also there are small chips? "Maybe welding/grinding/hot embers from a fire?" Tried a little goof off and didnt even temove any of the adhesive "assuming its adhesive since you can see the substance in the channel as well. I keep thinking of trying some 2000 wetsand and going up to 4500 but what is safe to use as a compound with a low speed buffer? Rare that the hardtop will be on the car but just want it to look better.

Also my ign ition switch is loose. The retaining nut is tight...but you can literally wiggle the switch behind the dash causing loose wires.

Any help and input is appreciated!
Thanks!
