Our wonderful healthcare system...

I remember when I was six, about 40 years ago, I broke my wrist. I went home, told my parents and by the time I convinced my dad I was genuinely hurt, he took me to the doctor. The doctor takes x-rays, "yep, it's broken" and puts it in a cast. Total time was probably less than 8 hours from the time I broke it to the time I got home with my shiny, new cast.

Fast forward to 2016.
My best friend tripped in a parking lot on Saturday and heard a 'snap' in her foot along with intense pain. She drove herself to the emergency room where they took x-rays. "Yep, it's broken. Here's a referral to an orthopedic specialist." Considering this was Saturday and not life threatening, they just wrapped it in a soft cast and sent her on her way, crutches in hand.
This morning she calls the orthopedic specialist and they inform her that because of her HMO she needs to see her primary care physician first. Despite the fact that she has x-rays with a report from the radiologist in hand, in addition to the referral given to her in the ER.
So then she calls her primary care and they can't see her before tomorrow afternoon. So now she's going on 3+ days before even having this PCP look at it, and he's just going to say "yep, it's broken" and refer her to an orthopedic specialist. At this rate, she'll be lucky to be in a cast by the end of the week. All for a simple broken bone.
Will there even be a point to setting it now? How fkn long does someone need to go with a broken bone today? And she pays $300/mo for this shi**y HMO. Unbelievable.

As much as I'd like to blame the Chairman for this I know it's not entirely his fault. Our healthcare system as been on this path for a couple of decades now. It has truly turned into an industry. Moral of the story, don't get sick/hurt.

Suggestions for midly upgraded C5 fuel system

Hello all,

I believe I am reaching the maximum capacity for my factory fuel system for my C5 and want to upgrade it without going crazy.

My current mods are as follows:
small cam
bolt ons
heads (will be installed shortly)
ZEX 75 hp wet shot (I want to go to 150 shot, thus why I need the upgrade)
Z06/LS6 intake manifold
LS6/LS1 port polished throttle body

I was looking at perhaps an aeromotive 340 intank pump and perhaps a used set of LS7/LS3 injectors. But, I am still on the stock Ls1 fuel rails and heard I may need some adapters to make that work?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Building this car up with used parts has actually been pretty neat and much friendlier on the wallet. So I'm hoping to come up with a budget friendly way to upgrade my fuel system without going crazy. This is my last goal in terms of performance upgrades for the vehicle.

Thanks.

Engine Rebuilder Responsibility?

I way overpaid an NCRS engine rebuilder to completely rebuild my 265. Now it appears a hydraulic valve is not pumping up, rocker arm will not stay on the valve tip and it bent the pushrod. Engine has 13 miles on it. The guy is telling me to R&R the lifter, if that's what's wrong, and he'll send me a lifter If I wanted to build or dismantle the engine I wouldn't have paid him to do it. Oh yeah it's has a real nice rear main seal leak.

Thoughts?

Why should democrats help blacks?

The blacks are just going to vote dem regardless. Look at all the cities run by dems. They're all chitholes with very high poverty, especially amongst the black community.

We all know that dems only care about votes. So if blacks are going to vote dems regardless, why the hell should the democrats do anything to lift them up?

Question about dim DIC display

I have a second separate question today and that's about the DIC display being very dim all of a sudden. Can hardly see it in the daytime and I can't seem to get it to brighten past a certain point no matter if the headlights are on or off.

The dial lights seem to be OK but I think they too also might be more dim then they should be. They do brighten and dim when I turn the switch back and forth so I know the switch is working but it just won't brighten the DIC enough to see it in the daytime.

Broken switch? Busted fuse? Bad DIC display? Other reason?

I'm asking because most of what I find online is about the HUD and that seems OK but it too could probably be a bit brighter.

Anyway, any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin

I will take the long weekend to think about it.

Edit: I just realized how gay the title is.........this gonna be good.

ERL not playing nice with my belts...

What am I missing here guys. I have my ERL short block back in the car and trying to get the AC belt on and it's tigher than a nats *** in the arctic... I have verified several times the belt is the proper 41" belt.

The block is a 5.3 with my stock accessories and the same ATI damper that was on the old motor.

The belt isn't even close to fitting, so is there anything with the block that would move the AC compressor out away from the damper?

Beware if modding - Water pump denied

Guys,
My car is modded quite a bit. However I was a little surprised when a faulty water pump was not covered at 23K miles. Just a note to all you modders out there. GM seems pretty serious about not covering modded cars. I have a great relationship with my service advisor and he loves that I beat on the car and drive real fast. Im not mad or anything . Just surprised. If your gonna play you gotta pay. So far I have paid for a transmission and a water pump. What's next?

C2 '64 tire size query

Hello,
I appreciate your help for my almost stock '64 roadster

I have a '64 with rear fender flares, stock front fenders, standard suspension and drum brakes. The existing rally wheels look absolutely tiny in the rear fender wells.

I'd like to replace the rally wheels with four Centerline wheels, tires sized 255/60R15s. I need to buy new tires due to age, but assume 255 is too wide for the non-flared front fenders?

If they are too wide, am I able to put a narrower tire or lower profile tire on the Centerline rims (don't currently have access to rim size, so if that's a factor I will understand non-responses)

Also, what is the widest tire I can put into the front standard fenders that won't tear them out when I turn the wheel, Centerlines or not?

Apologies for the newbie question. I did check threads here, but am still abit confused. I also visited the tirerack chart per someone's recommendation. All the tires they recommend are 205/75R15.

I'd appreciate any help, THANKS as always!

CRISIS: Internet to Have Global Governance October 1st.

Better Censorship for Tyrants

by Judith Bergman
August 29, 2016 at 6:00 am
http://ift.tt/2bzn6rj

- The U.S. announced its plan to pass the oversight of the agency to a global governance model on October 1, 2016. The Obama Administration says that the transition will have no practical effects on the internet's functioning or its users, and even considers the move necessary in order to maintain international support for the internet and to prevent a fracturing of its governance. Oh really?

- The absence of the U.S. in overseeing the governance of the internet could spell the end of the current era of free speech on the internet, as well as free enterprise.

- What guarantees are there that internet governance will not eventually end up in the hands of those very governments, seeing as they are all very eager to gain control of it? None. The Geneva Declaration of Principles makes clear that the UN, run by a majority of authoritarian governments, wants a decisive role for governments in internet governance.

- Civil society groups and activists are calling on Congress to sue the Obama Administration -- perhaps at least to postpone the date until more Americans are aware of the plan. It is not too late.

Very soon, on October 1, 2016, much of the internet's governance will shift from the US National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) authority to a nonprofit multi-stakeholder entity, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, also known by its acronym ICANN.

Until now, NTIA has been responsible for key internet domain name functions, such as the coordination of the DNS (Domain Name System) root, IP addresses, and other internet protocol resources. But in March 2014, the U.S. announced its plan to let its contract with ICANN to operate key domain name functions expire in September 2015, passing the oversight of the agency to a global governance model. The expiration was subsequently delayed until October 1, 2016.

According to the NTIA's press release at the time,

Quote:

"NTIA's responsibility includes the procedural role of administering changes to the authoritative root zone file – the database containing the lists of names and addresses of all top-level domains – as well as serving as the historic steward of the DNS. NTIA currently contracts with ICANN to carry out the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) functions and has a Cooperative Agreement with Verisign under which it performs related root zone management functions. Transitioning NTIA out of its role marks the final phase of the privatization of the DNS as outlined by the U.S. Government in 1997".
According to the NTIA, from the inception of ICANN, the U.S. government and internet stakeholders envisioned that the U.S. role in the IANA functions would be temporary. The Commerce Department's June 10, 1998 Statement of Policy stated that the U.S. government "is committed to a transition that will allow the private sector to take leadership for DNS management." The official reason, therefore, is that

Quote:

"ICANN as an organization has matured and taken steps in recent years to improve its accountability and transparency and its technical competence. At the same time, international support continues to grow for the multi-stakeholder model of Internet governance as evidenced by the continued success of the Internet Governance Forum and the resilient stewardship of the various Internet institutions".
The Obama Administration says that the transition will have no practical effects on the internet's functioning or its users, and even considers the move necessary in order to maintain international support for the internet and to prevent a fracturing of its governance.

Oh really?

While the transition may appear ostensibly "technical", the absence of the United States in overseeing the governance of the internet could spell the end of the current era of free speech on the internet, as well as free enterprise.

This is not merely wild speculation; it is evident in the statements that several governments, who are less than enchanted with the concept of freedom of speech, have made in recent years regarding the governance of the internet.

Some of these statements have come to light in the preparatory work of the United Nations World Summit on Information Society, known today as WSIS+10 -- a process that began in 2003 with the Geneva Declaration of Principles and that continues to this day. Purportedly, the purpose of the process is a "commitment to build a people-centred, inclusive and development-oriented Information Society, where everyone can create, access, utilize and share information and knowledge" (section A.1), but already in section B.1 it becomes clear that the UN, run by a majority of authoritarian governments, wants a decisive role for governments in internet governance:

Quote:

"Governments, as well as private sector, civil society and the United Nations and other international organizations have an important role and responsibility in the development of the Information Society and, as appropriate, in decision-making processes. Building a people-centred Information Society is a joint effort which requires cooperation and partnership among all stakeholders".
The UN, in the form of International Telecommunication Union (ITU), has already tried in vain to wrestle control of the internet from ICANN, but where the ITU failed, WSIS+10 may succeed with the new "global governance" ICANN, unshielded from the protection of the US.

The urge of various governments to control the internet is evidently there. If anything, this was clear from the submissions for the December 2015 WSIS+10 UN General Assembly High Level Meeting.

The written submission of the Group of 77 plus China -- a coalition, dating from 1964, of developing countries that now includes 134 nations -- stated that, "The management of the Internet involves both technical and public-policy issues and ... the overall authority for Internet related public policy issues is the sovereign right of States."

China's individual submission was even more interesting. It stated that,

Quote:

"The multi-stakeholder governance model that brings together governments, the private sector and non-governmental organizations would be respected... This model should not be lopsided, and any tendency to place sole emphasis on the role of businesses and non-governmental organizations while marginalizing governments should be avoided. The roles and responsibilities of national governments in regard to regulation and security of the network should be upheld. It is necessary to ensure that United Nations plays a facilitating role in setting up international public policies pertaining to the Internet. We should work on the internationalization of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers".
When China says that ICANN should be internationalized, it hardly has in mind an increased role for non-governmental organizations.

Russia did not even pay lip service to the multi-stakeholder governance model but cut straight to the point:

Quote:

"We consider it necessary to consecutively increase the role of governments in the Internet governance, with strengthening the activity of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in this field, as well as with support of the UNESCO activity in the development of ethical aspects of Internet use..."
"Ethical aspects of Internet use"?

Saudi Arabia, in its submission, also emphasized, that a priority for the WSIS+10 should be, "actualization of enhanced cooperation to enable governments... to carry out their roles and responsibilities in international public policy issues pertaining to the internet".

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Obama Administration -- as well as many in the high-tech community -- regards the long-planned move as necessary to maintain international support for the internet and prevent a fracturing of its governance -- a claim critics may find dubious. The U.S. government's role "has long been a source of irritation to foreign governments," according to the NTIA. One look at many foreign governments and it is easy to see why. The NTIA claims that, "These calls for replacing the multi-stakeholder model with a multilateral, government-run approach will only grow louder if the U.S. government fails to complete the transition". Is that a threat?

But what guarantees are there that internet governance will not eventually end up in the hands of those very governments, seeing as they are all very eager to gain control of it? None.

In fact, those who claim to care about a free and uncensored internet, unbridled by government and international state organizations, should take a close look at the proposals for the plan for ICANN that the different stakeholders, including governments, came to agree on in March 2016 in Marrakech. According to this plan, the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC), a decisional participant in ICANN, will -- subject to certain limitations -- be able to participate in decision-making on budgets, board member removals, and other matters of ICANN corporate governance. This is new and represents a major shift, which should concern those who care about internet freedom. Even if this plan is discarded for some reason, it shows how eagerly governments are pushing for control in internet matters. That observation alone should serve as a warning to those who take at face value the U.S. administration's declarations that nothing will change.

The decision to transfer authority to ICANN has met with resistance in the U.S. Congress, and a coalition of more than two dozen civil society groups and activists are even calling on Congress to sue the Obama Administration -- perhaps at least to postpone the date until more Americans are aware of the plan. It is not too late.

Brake pedal goes to the floor, no leaks

Unfortunately I hardly get to drive my 72, but I took it out for the first time in a few months and drove around for a few miles. I kind of take it easy usually, and didn't notice any brake issues. Took it out the following day, and I started to notice the pedal traveling a lot more and after few stops, it now goes all the way to the floor with almost no resistance and only get some braking power, albeit small, right as it hits the floor. The MC is full and could not see any leaks on the ground (haven't taken any wheels off yet) I have done some reading about very spongy brakes after some sort of brake service, but nothing brake related has been touched on this car for a few years (previous owner). I know he changed the MC, not sure what else, but the brakes have been fine. I did notice that the fluid in one of the MC chambers was quite clear, while the other was very cloudy, almost black. Do you think I should start by flushing the cloudy fluid and see if it gets better, or do you think I am looking at bad calipers?

It's a 72 4-speed with power brakes and a 350, if any of that matters.

Thanks

Lingenfelter is horrrrrible!!!!

I ordered a 2.3 pulley with belt and idlers about 5 weeks ago. Since then, i have had to follow up at least 5 times. Each time i am told it will ship the following day...So i wait about a week, and call back (each time on hold for no less than 30-40 minutes) to find out they havent shipped anything.

Two weeks ago i find out the parts that were supposed to be "in stock and ready to ship", arent in stock at all. I cancelled the belt and idlers and asked them to over night the pulley since it was in stock, and here i am another 2 weeks later on hold with lingenfelter again, without tracking information and without my products i paid for.

This experience is beyond infuriating. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER OR LIFE. I do not care if lingenfelter is the only mfgr for products i want...I will go without if thats the case.

I truly hope this experience on a small and simple purchase helps others to go to another vendor. TRUST ME when i say a baby understands customer service better than these jokers...

If anyone here has a 2.3 pulley for sale, please pm me.

PS - your auto attendant messaging makes me more infuriated by the minute. Ive heard this loop message only about 1000 times.

Another Obama Parting Gift

His final fiscal year federal budget deficit will increase by 35%.

ASSOCIATED PRESS
Aug. 26, 2016

As President Obama ends his second term, he’s leaving plenty of political parting gifts. The latest is a 35% single-year increase in the federal budget deficit, and a rising trajectory of spending and debt as a share of the economy. Hillary Clinton’s campaign promise of more “stimulus” spending next year suddenly looks a lot more politically problematic.

That’s the story you haven’t read from the Congressional Budget Office’s latest fiscal and economic outlook released this week. For the 2016 fiscal year that ends next month, CBO now forecasts that revenues will rise by only $26 billion while outlays will increase by some $178 billion. The federal deficit will therefore rise from $438 billion to $590 billion, the biggest deficit since 2013.

The revenue shortfall reflects the decline in corporate profits and slower economic growth; the second quarter was revised down to 1.1% Friday. Meanwhile, outlays will rise 5% thanks in large part to the automatic spending drivers of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid (which has soared thanks to ObamaCare). Net interest outlays will rise 11% this fiscal year despite historically low interest rates as overall debt continues to increase.

As a share of the national economy, debt held by the public—the kind the Treasury must repay—will increase to 76.6% this fiscal year. That’s the highest share of GDP since 1950 when the debt burden was winding down after World War II. It was 52.3% in President Obama’s first year in office, and it usually is flat or falls during an economic expansion.

No such debt reduction is on the horizon now. Thanks to ObamaCare and his refusal to reform entitlements, Mr. Obama has set the federal fisc on an even uglier path long after he’s left for a tour of the world’s great golf courses. CBO says spending will keep rising and so will debt as a share of GDP—to 77.2% in 2017, 79.3% in 2021 and 85.5% in 2026. (See the nearby chart.) All of this assumes no change in current policy and no economic recession. The odds of the latter are close to zero.

One intriguing question is whether Mr. Obama has planned it this way. One of his abiding goals has been to reorient federal spending away from defense toward more income redistribution and social spending. He has achieved that to some extent during his eight years in office, but his spending wedge will grow even more pronounced as the years go on. Budget room for defense will shrink as the entitlement state expands. He is Europeanizing the U.S. military budget.

All of this also means that his successor will have less running room for fiscal expansion. These columns put a higher priority on promoting economic growth than on deficit reduction, and we’d support a pro-growth tax cut to restore a 3% growth path. But even a reserve currency nation like the U.S. has to worry when its debt to GDP ratio heads above 80%, especially if economic growth continues to be as slow as it has been during the Obama era.

Mrs. Clinton is promising a five-year $275 billion increase in spending for roads, bridges and airports, and her chances of getting that through a Republican House diminish as the deficit grows. The tax increases she is proposing would hurt growth and further reduce federal revenues. Donald Trump is promising to spend more on roads and defense than Mrs. Clinton while cutting taxes by multiple trillions of dollars over 10 years. The deficit would restrain his ambitions too.

Mr. Obama said he wanted to be the reverse Reagan, and in both slower economic growth and an expanding government fiscal burden he has succeeded.

Minnesota gun buyback program a dud, some legal owners say

Stupid Liberals. He would have gotten the $300.00 gift cared if he would have just painted the gun black!

Minnesota gun buyback program a dud, some legal owners say

http://ift.tt/2bMuuAj

A Minneapolis gun buyback program targeting weapons used in street crimes may be shooting blanks, as detractors said a Saturday collection mostly took in antiquated, unused or homemade arms from legal owners and did little to thin the firearm supply actually available to dangerous criminals.

Two Minneapolis locations collected about 150 firearms Saturday, but both exchanges were forced to shut down several hours early when officials ran out of Visa gift cards – $25,000 worth, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

And at least some of that money helped finance the purchase of even more guns.

One anonymous gun owner told WCCO he received $200 in gift cards that he planned to use to buy a new firearm. That man said he didn’t think the program was serving its intended purpose.

“I just don’t feel that a criminal is going to come up to a fire department with a bunch of police around it and turn in a gun,” he said.

Paul Joat, an area gun collector, told The Star Tribune he bought two weapons on the street, ostensibly offering the sellers a better deal than the city could.

“A lot of what I’m seeing is gun nuts turning in their guns for more than they’re worth,” he said.

A commenter on the Minnesota Gun Talk message board noted that “every single person in line was one of us.”

The lure of a Visa gift card worth between $15 and $300 was enough to make some enterprising Minnesotans get creative.

One person constructed a “shotgun” out of a piece of wood, some tape and a pipe. They were given a $100 gift card for the contraption, according to a Facebook post from the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus.

Guns gathered during the Saturday buyback were set to be decommissioned and used in an art piece.

Door doesn't open/unlock sometimes ...

I have read through the other threads and have implemented those suggestions, this issue seems to be a little different and intermittent. Any advice is appreciated!

When I go to open the door after the car has sat a while, overnight or longer, the door will not unlock and open. The window does not index, the door latch does not make any noise. I can hear clicking noises coming from the console and the red LED does turn red acknowledging the door latch pull. I can reproduce the problem on both doors with both FOB's.

Background:
- C6, 2012 Lt2 corvette
- Have put new batteries in both FOB's
- Replaced both door handle latches with new latches
- Have lubricated locking mechanisms.
- Car never says key fob not detected, starts every time.
- Pressing unlock on the FOB first does unlock the car and then I can get in every time.
- The interior door button always works for me.

Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Idle issue with AFE intake

Installed the AFE intake with blue filter about 700 miles ago. At first there was no difference other than a little bit more sound. Now when I am coming to a stop and take the car out of gear, the RPM doesn't drop to idle right away. There is a lag. Almost like my foot is still lightly resting on the gas pedal.

I am almost certain this has something to do with the intake. I did some searching and saw info about AFR and the car running too lean or too rich. I'm not really sure how to figure out which it is or if that's even the issue.

Any help is appreciated!

An early sign the ‘Monster Vote’ for Trump may turn out

An early sign the ‘Monster Vote’ for Trump may turn out

By Thomas Lifson

http://ift.tt/2c2QmYO

The principal electoral strategy of Donald Trump has been the bet that non-voters in recent elections will turn out, with some of them registering to vote for the first time. This is jokingly known as the “Monster Vote,” both because of its size and because the elites look down their noses at many of this demographic cohort. Existing models of the electorate used by most polls do not account for these hypothetical voters, which is the comfort Trump supporters offer one another in the face of unceasing negative news and media attacks.

Conservative Treehouse, which is proudly pro-Trump, is out with an early sign that the Trump vision may be actualizing.

…the left-leaning Tampa Bay Times has just dropped a big bit of data which seems to also confirm the existence of this phenomenon:

“More than 25% of the inbound mail-in or absentee ballots in the upcoming primary, have NEVER VOTED BEFORE“:…

[…] “This is huge,” said Marian Johnson, senior vice president of political strategy for the Florida Chamber and one of the foremost experts on Florida campaigns and politics. “I can envision election night when the votes are counted that certain people win that nobody thought had a chance, and that being attributed to this trend.”

As of Thursday morning, more than 855,000 primary ballots had been cast by mail. More than a quarter of those votes came from Floridians who had not voted in the last four primaries and another 20 percent from people who voted in just one of the last four primaries.

In other words, these are not “likely voters” surveyed by most pollsters or targeted by sophisticated political campaigns. The trend applies to Democrats and Republicans alike and across the state, said Johnson, who was shocked when she first spotted the trend developing weeks ago.

“The first thing I did was go back to my data people and said, ‘Are you sure you ran this right?’ “

They had. The data crunchers looked at who requested mail ballots and who is returning them, and categorized each voter by a zero, one, two, three or four — depending on how many of the last four primaries they voted in.

[…] We’re in unprecedented, unchartered territory,” said Florida Chamber president and CEO Mark Wilson. “Nobody’s been polling these people, nobody’s been marketing to these people.” (read more)

This is a very good sign, but some caution is in order. Reportedly, many Hispanics are being mobilized to register and vote anti-Trump. Florida has seen a huge influx of Puerto Ricans fleeing the island territory’s terrible economy. They are eligible to register and vote as U.S. citizens. They could account for some of this activity, as many are new residents.

Hello Everyone!

Hello guys,

I want to introduce us, we are a large consignment shop with three locations currently in Michigan.

Corvettes are one of our most popular vehicles that seem to roll through our doors for consignment. We wanted to take place on this forum and make an account in hopes that if we run across any issues with any of our Vettes hopefully we can get an answer for the question, or possibly answer a few of your questions.

Here's a picture of a few we currently have

Hello Everyone!

Cam installed

Over the weekend I had my MS4 cam installed along with valve springs, pushrods, new oil pump, and timing set. The only other mods right now are Corsa Pace cat back and breathless performance intake. I'm hoping to get on the dyno in the next week or so and see what it's got

Mylan to Launch Cheaper Generic EpiPen Alternative...

Gee..so requiring onerous government regulation to provide price relief wasn't the answer after all?

http://ift.tt/2bLL1r6

----------------------------------------------------------

Authorized generic of lifesaving treatment for serious allergic reactions to list for $300 per two-pack

Mylan NV on Monday said it would launch a generic alternative to EpiPen at a 50% discount after being criticized for dramatically raising the price of the lifesaving drug.

The company said it would list the authorized generic—which will be identical to the branded product—for $300 per two-pack carton. Mylan said it expects to launch the generic in “several weeks,” after labeling revisions.

“We understand the deep frustration and concerns associated with the cost of EpiPen to the patient, and have always shared the public’s desire to ensure that this important product be accessible to anyone who needs it,” said Chief Executive Heather Bresch.
She said bypassing the brand system and offering an additional alternative was the best option “because of the complexity and opaqueness of today’s branded pharmaceutical supply chain and the increased shifting of costs to patients as a result of high deductible health plans.”

Shares in the company rose 2.3% to $44.02 premarket.

EpiPen, whose list price has climbed nearly 550% over eight years, dominates the more than $1 billion market to treat serious allergic reactions because of Mylan’s effective marketing and lobbying, aggressive defense of its turf and the relatively high costs of manufacturing such sterile injections, analysts say.

A backlash over Mylan’s pricing tactics is shedding light on its grasp of the market. On Thursday, after politicians, physicians and lawmakers criticized the price of EpiPen, Mylan offered to provide more financial help to patients, saying it would cover their insurance out-of-pocket costs up to $300, from $100 previously. It also said it would expand the number of low-income patients eligible to receive company subsidies.

Mylan said Monday that both plans announced last week would remain in place for the branded product.

Since acquiring the rights to sell EpiPen in late 2007, Mylan has increased the list price of a pack of two to $608.61.

Bernstein analysts said that while the discounts announced last week were directed at consumers, the current set is directed at payors and employers, effectively capping their costs—and it is payors who set the ultimate patient costs, through deductibles and copays.

The pair of steps Mylan is taking “will have material impact on the consumer cost of the drug.”

“They are also quite costly for the company,” according to Bernstein, which estimates the average revenue per prescription will be reduced to about $280, or 25% less revenue.

Bernstein said Mylan will likely continue to take heat for the price increases and there will be heightened pressure on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to bring competition to the market.

“However, the debate may gradually shift to the burden of copays and coinsurance on the working middle class,” the analysts said.

What do you do if the right to own a firearm is gone?

I am a freedom loving, 2A supporter, gun nut, collector, competitive shooter and hunter. I have considered for many years what happens if we lose the 2A. I ponder it now more than ever because I am worried that we are getting closer to the end.

So here is the hypothetical....

Hillary gets elected. She gets her 3-6 SCOTUS appointments and Heller is overturned. SCOTUS gives a green light for the feds to outlaw private ownership of firearms. There is a six month grace period to shoot up your ammo and turn in your guns. After that, possession of a gun or a bullet becomes a federal crime with a mandatory 25 year prison term.

You cannot have a gun for defense, hunting, target practice or collecting. Possession becomes a crime and if caught you go to prison regardless of circumstances.

Not asking what YOU would do. I'm wondering what you think most gun owners would do? Would they refuse to comply or would this play out like Obamacare, Benghazi and Hillary's emails with everyone pissed but just accepting it after a few months?
