If you feel the need for an extended warranty then buy the manufacturer's version instead of one of the many versions of the third party, "pay a claim, surely you can't be serious" type of policies.
All of these policies are filled with "gotchas" and exclusions and many of the third party policies have owner required actions that would be more at home in a voodoo spell than a legal document. One that came "free" with my wife's last Japanese produced vehicle required all maintenance to be done by the selling dealer and it could not be performed either before or after the exact required mileage/or time so if you tried to keep that policy in effect the car and not you would dictate any out-of-town travel schedule, exceptions had to be approved in advance by the selling dealer.
For any of the policies once you even slightly cross the line on modifications or not strictly following required maintenance the policy is void so in your case you would clearly be wasting your money. And for those who want to unfurl the M-M warranty act flag M-M was aimed at preventing manufacturers from forcing you to use only their supplied parts-not to allow users to modify the form or function of the product and expect the warranty to remain intact.
